Doing Disney in 2020 is just, different, no park hoping, no fast passes, no fireworks. You’ll need to make a reservation for the park you’d like to visit, ahead of time, one park per day.
I recommend booking your Disney trip directly through Disney’s office website. Good news is Florida Residents are getting quite the steal with 2,3,4 and 5 day ticket deals.
First things first, Prepare yourself...they make you wear your mask as soon as you step out of the car. For the record, I told a white lie and said Gabi was 22 months so that she didn’t have to suffer...because 2 and up have to wear them.
fortunately the weather was PERFECT, overcast with a cool breeze so it wasn’t as bad as it had the potential of being, you have your temp checked then move onto metal detector and bag check. Just pack your patience and prepare yourself for hours with your mask on, they do have “relaxation stations” where you can sit around, chill without a mask and be normal for a few min. Also, if you think shoveling popcorn in your mouth as you walk will do the trick, it won’t, I tried that, i was told “if you’re eating or drinking you have to stay in one spot yes, you read that right no eating and walking 🙄
ok ,here is the good news, less people! noticeably less, so great photo oops, Short weights for getting munchies, perfect views for parades and don’t let the lines fool you, lines appear longer than they actually are due to the socially distant set up of things as a result a 15min line may look like a 40min line (except Prince Charming’s carousel 🎠 that line took what seemed like forever because they can’t fill the ride completely due to Covid so they skip rows and the carousel is never full .
There are no Fast 💨 Passes , those arnt due to come back until January.. fortunately the wait times are nothing, Don’t go by the wait times on the app, they arn’t accurate, we had great luck, walking straight on to a few rides.
Come prepared with ponchos ,because well, Florida . a little rain poped up while we were there and the ponchos totally saved the day, keeping everyone dry and happy.
As far as characters and entertainment go there is nothing close contact... (aweee shucks 👎🏼 ), no autografts 🖊 , no meet and greets 👋🏼 , no warm hugs 🤗 😞 no Dance parties in the street 🎉 BUT! There was a mini Halloween parade with Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy that rotates around the park... AND a not so spooky Villain parade..which I loved!
You’ll also see characters like Winnie the Pooh 🍯 and Friends handing out on the front porch of The Crystal Palace giving air hugs and blowing kisses 😘 and the County bears were perched on the balcony above their jamboree hall giving toothless smiles and waves.
As far as princesses go, we didn’t see one the closest thing we saw to a princess was Cinderella’s two ugly step sisters 👯♀️ no Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boutique and no character dining BUT here is what IS open inside the kingdom of magic.
- Aloha Isle
- Auntie Gravity's Galactic Goodies

even with all the no’s , we had an awesome time! sure, it was different but it was still Disney and I’d rather do Disney different than not at all. it was still magical, all the decorations are still beautiful and with less people you can enjoy them and the common areas more. They have adorable Halloween finds in the shops that are open throughout the park and with less people you have more room to browse comfortably., At the end of the day the kids said they had a lot of fun, Jerry and I had fun watching them have fun and that’s what it’s all about right?! Being together, making memories! The masks are uncomfortable But get out there and Do Disney 2020 style it will give us something to look back on and say remember that?!? let’s cross our fingers that things return to normal sooner than later but until that time comes, let the good times roll!
